My name is Tim. My current truck named "Barely Legal" is a 2008 F-250 ccsb 6.4. I bought it used, bone stock, in January 2014, when I traded in my 2006 F-250 that I special ordered and had since brand new with 0 miles. I've been a diesel mechanic for heavy trucks and equipment since 2005 when I graduated from tech college. I turn wrenches all day, but not on passenger vehicles. I save that for evenings and weekends. We'll see where this thread all goes, but it wont be just about a 6.4 engine build.
A little history of the 3 trucks I've owned with a picture of each:
My current truck, a 2008 F-250 6.4. It has been under the knife in a few areas. We'll get to that soon enough on here.
My last truck, a 2006 F-250 6.0. Ordered it brand new 0 miles bone stock, and lifted it just a few months after driving it off the showroom floor. 10.5" lift, 38's on 20's. Owned it and had it set up that way for 8 years. This truck actually was the one that kind of started the name Barely Legal, due to the size. Around me, 8" and 37s seems to be fine with the local authorities. Once you go 10" and 38's, well, I've found some get out the tape measure at this point, and you better be prepared. For the most part, its still perfectly fine to daily drive, which is what I did with it and my 08 now as well.
And just to throw it in here, my first truck, a 1999 Dodge Dakota 5.2 V8. Bought that bone stock also and built that back in my late teens. It had 9.5" lift, 35's and 4.56 gears.
Needless to say over the years since legal driving age, I've had a thing for black lifted trucks.
