What do you guys use to extend the truck's hitch when you have a slide-in camper in the bed of the truck that hangs over the back?
Interested in what's needed to do this and pull a box trailer with a car inside.
Thanks.

We have a slide in hitch extender thats like 4' long and added a 3/8 piece of bar stock that goes into the ball mount in the bumper for extra support. I'll take a picture when I get home if I can remember. I have no idea what brand it is though.

I am also interested in this. I just picked this unit up pretty cheap. I need to add airbags. . uploadfromtaptalk1448402100255.jpg

As stated above, Super hitch is the way to go. Expensive as hell, but worth it. The hitch I bought is rated at 600lbs tongue weight, 6000 lbs towing- no load equalizing at 36" extension. with load equalizing goes up to 12,000 lbs.

Thanks for the info. I did some research and I'm not very comfortable with what's out there. I'd probably build my own hitch with custom rear bumper just to make sure it's all strong enogh. I was hoping to see what others came up with along those lines.

I built my own also it has 4 hitch points and a 40"double beam extension

picture is a single bar test fit before the modification

I also built my own tie down anchors for my camper
removable like a torklift but strong enough to lift the truck from

when in doubt bust the welder out ;-)

but the Superhitch Magnum is what I would have done if money was no issue and I was towing heavy

Nice Fox! I have a 990.

Works really well and could easily be made.
