I've had a new turbo for months and I've looked at every kit I could find. Just can't figure out why they are so over priced. Finally decided I would just try to make what was needed. I liked the way the turbo is mounted in the 6.0 conversions so I copied it. Don't make too much fun of my welding, its the best my lil 110 flux can do.

I wanted to work off of the down pipe.

Definetly put bottle of argon on the shopping list. Is that oil feed fitting welded in? Why didn't you just drill and tap? I would pressure test that before the turbo was in. Could cap it and start it up that weld looks like it could leak?

A threaded connection is another possible leak. I turned the threads off of it on my lathe. It's a press fit and welded. Does not leak. Inside of all of it is smooth like it should be, where it matters.

Kudos to you for thinking outside the box .
I like it !
Less of a sharp bend for the down pipe and I like how the hot side charge cooler pipe goes around back .really opens up the top of the engine . Heck, even the intake has more of a straight shot into the turbo! Nothing wrong with that at all.
What turbo did you go with??

Looks different. Did you mill the flange that bolts to the turbo exhaust housing flat?? Turbo looks to be off of a john Deere something.

Thank you. The turbo fits a 8.1L John Deere. Its a S366 with a JD logo. I worked at a local dealer for years and I still get parts at cost most of the time.

I used a fly cutter after the welding was finished.

It's called the scrap pile T4 conversion. I will get some pics of it finished. Y'all will get a kick out of the intake pipe. It works great. Now just need to continue saving for the pushrods, springs, studs, and diy injectors.

Didn't think anybody offered DIY kits for injectors. Lot of sponsors on here that can set you up. Thanks for joining the site.

If you have the part # for the barrel and plunger most pump shops will sell them to you. $85 per injector.

And I split the factory hose and used a piece of irrigation pipe in the middle.

Pipe is clean, on the inside.

I built the trans, meth injection, gears, Hydra chip. I have another engine that I'm building to go in the truck.

Looking good. And yes you can build you own injectors just depends on what size your trying to build. If I remember correctly. A 238cc hybrid is just a A code with BD code P&B and many vendors sell nozzles, o rings, and all the other little parts are available...

I've rebuilt the injectors in our dt530e dump trucks. I've got the dipaco part #'s and a injection shop that I do alot of business with.

Where in Va do you live?

Dude, I'm in Chesterfield. Where in Amelia you at? My buddy lives off of Poorhouse road (his road is near the mill). I have a couple other friends that live out that way too. Would love to check out your setup in person sometime. Take care.

Justin
