Transmission question

Hey guys im looking at a used transmission that the seller claims has been rebuilt with aftermarket clutches but said the torque converter blew up in. He said he didnt try to drive it at all and that all it needs is a new set of solenoids but he returned the truck to stock sold it. Ive talked him down to $450 do you guys think if he is telling the truth do i need to be worried about anything else besides the solenoids?

I'd want to tear it down and make sure it's clean of blown up torque converter bits and pieces.

At least go threw it and make sure its clean its a gamble honestly but if its built with alpt of goopd parts. Then a freshen up should only be a good cleaning and inspection. And then you KNOW what was done to it..
