Hey this is my first post to the forum, so forgive me if this has been covered somewhere and I haven't found it yet. I'm looking for a little advice on a lift kit for my truck. I have an 83 crew cab long box and I'm looking for a big lift for it. So far all I can find is up to a 6" kit and I would like to go bigger due to the wheel base, make it look right lol. So my question is are there any kits that are bigger then 6"? If not and I have to make a custom one it would be nice to get some pointers on what to do. Tbh I would like to be somewhere around a 12" lift and I know that would be a custom job. So if anyone has done one that big or know of any bigger kits please let me know, thanks

Its ttb but I have a Dana 60 solid front from a 90s dodge kickin around that I was thinking of swapping in. If I could find on older ford 60 id rather swap that in. Thanks for the quick replies

Forget about lifting the TTB. And forget about the Dodge axle, unless you plan on doing some serious fab work.
You'll need a drop pitman arm, drop track-bar bracket, adjustable track bar and a steering stabilizer at the absolute minimum.

It's al about angles, as stated you will need a drop pitman arm, I would also try to find a new knuckle for what ever axle you swap in, especially if you want to go up 12" you will also probably have to build new mounts for the track bar at that height,

Kingpin Dana 60 with double shear hi-steer arms would be the way I would do it.
NW Fabworks makes a nice set of hi-steer arms.
Couple that with some Dedenbear knuckles and you should be doing alright.

I use kingpin 60's in most of the straight axle swaps I do

kingpins > ball joints

I'm in the process of building one for my '97 right now.
Welded center section, truss, chromoly shafts, 35 spline outers and a locker TBD.
Should be stout.

I don't mean to derail, but I found kingpin outers for my superduty 60 once and I can't find them again, I want to put that on my truck, it was $1200, I wish I could find it again

I don't see how that is possible? Unless you are modifying the inner C's as well.
I know Dedenbear used to sell inner C's that were forged off the of kingpin Dana 70 C's, and use either Kinpin 60 or 70 knuckles.

I used the wrong phasing, it included the "C"'s as well,

Thanks everyone for the replies, this has to be one of the most helpful forums I've ever joined! I'll make sure I start taking pictures of the build as I get into it to share with everyone

Where in Canada are you?
You'll also need the drivers side u-bolt plate at very least.
Track bar and bracket if you plan on running at stock height for a while.
Easiest to just take everything from the spring hangers and steering box down, including the drive-line. Keep what you need and sell or scrap the rest.
