People say my truck sounds amazing... and I attribute it all to the stage 2 colt cam. Lol.

Is that the cam making the idle sound so raspy like that?

Pistons.... That's a 40* or so cold start. It starts up smooth off the glow plugs then will start running like that once they cool off. Clears right up once it gets some heat in it.

Sounds broken to me...

It's fine... Idle smooths out and smoke goes away by the time I'm to the end of my driveway.

The smoke isn't nearly as bad as that video makes it look, my phone did something weird with the lighting.

There is no reason you shouldn't see an increase in HP, if the cam is designed properly. I will be curious to see what Chris and Side Action come up with.

We have done a cam only swap on a 6.4. Using our Stage 1 cam. No other change, dyno was done before and after. The power change was minimal. We made 18hp and 50 ft lbs of torque. These were not peak gains but low end gains. On the top end the truck had less backpressure.

Stage I
From hot street trucks to dump trucks.
Drop in replacement with corrected valve timing, increased lift and duration for efficiency VS the OEM grind that was designed to promote EGR Flow.

Works with stock valve springs and RCD upgrade 120# springs.
No Piston fly-cutting required.
RCD Chromoly Push Rods recommended.

Duration 170 IN / 185 EX
Valve Lift .385" IN / .368" EX

Stage 2
Hotter Street use.
Drop in use, no piston fly-cuts required.
RCD 120# Valve springs recommended for competition use.
RCD Chromoly Push Rods recommended.

Optimized valve timing, increased lift and duration for maximum torque, horsepower and mileage.

Duration 181 IN / 195 EX
Valve Lift .412" IN / .400" EX

Stage 3
Hot Street / Competition use.
.060" Piston fly-cuts required.
RCD 120# Valve springs required.
RCD Chromoly Push Rods Required.

Optimized valve timing, substantially increased lift and duration for maximum torque, horsepower.

Duration 187 IN / 208 EX
Valve Lift .467" IN / .450" EX

Stage 4
Extreme Competition use only.
.060" Piston fly-cuts required.
RCD 120# Valve springs required to prevent coil-bind / valve float.
RCD press-on valve seals required.
1.850" installed height.
RCD Chromoly Push Rods Required.
Blueprinting of cylinder head required to ensure valve installed heights and to prevent coil-bind.

Optimized valve timing, substantially increased lift and duration for maximum torque, horsepower in competition vehicles.

Duration 197 IN / 218 EX
Valve Lift .518" IN / .500" EX

Josh, what's your stage 4 worth?
When you say "Optimized valve timing" what did you change?

i'm moving from the cam i have, to a RCD stg 2 cam. motor is done, waiting on lp turbo to get back from getting a 360* thrust put in.

the rcd has a little more lift and less duration than my current one, and my current one has a extra 6* of lobe separation to help drive the turbo's harder so we'll see.

if your curious about the stg 2, i'll be able to give some info in the near future.

stock fuel, ******** tunes, rcd 75/59, lowered compression 1 point.

i had uppipes leak, some rockers that were trash, and some other odds and ends, so we went to bd manifolds and rcd up pipes, and a rcd cam.

no, there will not be dyno sheets, just a tree trimmers opinion of a cam.
