Hey guys, I've been fighting a few codes on my truck with dual pumps and trying to isolate the problem.
The codes are p0087, p0091,and p2291.
The truck drives normal until rail pressure reaches about 10k then will tank to 1.5-2kpsi.
I repaired some exposed wires for the second pump and changed the rail pressure sensor with no change. There is absolutely no metal in the system.
I'm thinking of temporarily putting it back to a single pump to help narrow down the problem.
Anyone have some ideas of what I could try before I go back to a single pump?
Thanks.

So do you think that a pump is bypassing internally? You should be able to pull the returns and see which one is greater at 10k rail pressure.

Wow, that sounds like a bad day.
Luckily it's not dumping fuel in the crankcase so that's a plus.
I think I'll try an get my hands on a lower mile non-reman K16 and call it a day.

Update: I returned the truck back to a single pump.
Next, I swapped 2 different good K16s pulled from running trucks. No matter what pump is is installed, rail pressure goes to10K and tanks to 2k.
Ramped up rail pressure with the valve covers off with no sign of leaks.
Not sure where to go from here.
Any ideas are appreciated.
