Hey all, I've been doing a lot of research on how I want to set up my 09 f250 FX4. I want to run 22x12's (-44 offset) with 35's. I'm wondering if I can clear them with a 3" lift or if I'll need to go with a 4.5" lift. Either way I plan on going with a Rough Country kit. I've always had good luck with their kits and it seems like every other kit is comparable but way overpriced.

I would tell you 4.5" so you don't have to do major trimming.

Does the 4.5" kit actually raise the truck 4.5"? I've seen several guys say that it actually raises the truck almost 6". I just don't want it to be too tall to fit in my garage.

if you figure tire size in as well, then yea the truck will be a total of about 6.5" taller assuming your on stock size tires now. and go with a 4.5" lift and 35s

Yeah I know that. But some of the trucks I've seen with the 4.5 look like they have a 6

I'm running that same wheel / tire combo ( tires slightly bigger 325/50/22 ) on a ICON 2.5" kit. Slight rub at full lock but that it.

Already did a 5" flo pro exhaust, s&b intake, egr delete, and h&s mini maxx. Next I plan on doing a 4.5" lift, 22x12 fuel maverick's (black and chrome), and 35x12.50 trail grapplers. Then color match the bumpers

How much lift did you actually get out of that kit?

Why not contact Trevor at PMF?

You can do 2.5" icon coils and 1" bmc spacer with a 3 link and achieve the perfect height for being lifted but fitting in the garage.

(What I want to do when I lift)

This is exactly what I have. It's a great height for usability for sure, and I can squeeze it in the garage when the hail comes. It's REAL close though.

you get what you pay for. Trevor has reasonable pricing...

True that.

So you're saying instead of buying a complete kit, I should buy a bunch of different parts and spend twice as much for slightly better ride quality.

Check that, 3-4 times as much money.

My truck rides better than stock. Your truck with a rough country lift is going to ride worse than stock, I know the one I test drove with one when I was truck shopping did. If you're fine with that, more power to you.

I'm all about good ride quality, but it's pretty hard to justify the cost. Is there not a middle of the road lift? It seems like all anyone recommends is icon.

In my opinion, PMF is that middle road. Their kits seem more reasonably priced for what you get and its still good quality. Icon springs, fox or Bilstein shocks, 3 or 4 link if you don't want to do a radius arm drop which they also have at PMF. You can kinda customize your own thing. Looking at the alpha kit like I have youd be in the kit for just under 2600 with the basic Bilstein shocks. Don't know what rough country runs though.

But that gets you 3link, coils, shocks, adjustable track bar, sway bar drops, rear traction blocks, ubolts and I think that's it.
