Any problems with batteries corroding being under the truck like the picture shown above? I live in the northeast and there is a lot of salt in winter time... Would it make sense to put the battery in a plastic container like what was shown in the pic with the tool box and mount it to the frame rail? Just wondering because I plan on doing this soon and I daily drive my truck and dont want to have battery issues due to climate and salt

Ah, did not know they used those. That's why I ask these questions here!

Thanks, Seabee - I'm going to go poking around some newer E-series and see how they're set up.

Im assuming you mean underhood? LOL
Id just google Eseries powerstroke for that.

As far as how far the Eseries battery box hangs down on the frame rail, you can kind of see it here. Below the front door, with the yellow sticker. Its not bad, I just wanted to clean it up a bit.

I live in the northeast and i have no problems with mine underneath. They have been under there for two winters now and no issues.

Bump for my degas bottle question...

I have a custom aluminum overflow tank made up it is 1 of 2 out there right now. I really didnt want to post anything up cause the guy that built it isnt a vendor on here but their on the psn. He is trying to get the tanks out there tho for guys like us wanting more room in the engine bay.

You could always use orbital batteries and roll them on their side and mount the box up higher if being visable is an issue.

Actually, having looked at it on the computer it doesn't look too bad. And I did some PTS searching and depending on what the dealer wants for all that crap it's a pretty sweet option.

I'm going to try and price out the E-series dual battery frame boxes and cables tomorrow, work dependent.

Why not just use the E series frame mount battery boxes ?

They do work, but they hang down pretty low and are visible.

Tell him to sign up over here. I would definitely want something like that the clean up the engine bay. That Degas bottle is ugly as hell.

Dang. Maybe I'll be able to get a degass idea off an E-series, at least. Anyone have any underwood shots of one?

This isn't the best pic but this appears to be the degas bottle from and E-series.

I don't know where it mounts though...

8A080 goes for $105

Here's the battery stuff:

Looks like the tray(10769) go for $132 each.
And the covers(10a687) go for $42

Does anyone know what the vacuum canister is for(or the proper name)? I've been told auto hubs heating.

It's just a reservoir so your vacuum pump isn't running all the dang time. Vacuum runs the auto hubs and the floor/vent/defrost selector

Might try hitting the junkyards, ebay or CL and find some a little cheaper or just go through SunRise Ford since they are a vender and discount items to members.

I'm going to try looking around up here for a used set, but I'll most likely be building a box for my toolbox if I can't find a set cheap. I love how clean that is though, and with my running boards I don't think it'd hang down too much for me.

My plan is to run a distribution point under the hood, as well as a pair of jumper posts. No solid layout for it all yet, still working it out in my head and gathering peices.
