Yes IPR can be done with turbo on. Just need the IPR socket (15 bucks at a Napa) a swivel and a 6 inch extension. Bad IPR doesn't cause extended crank ( or at least I've never seen one cause that ) they are either good or bad. Just fail enough for me to warrant changing them when I don't know...
Kinda tough to say where the exact issue is located. You could air leak the oil system when the truck is HOT and listen ( keep in mind it may take 10 minutes for the leak to show up ) but at a minimum just order the stand tubes and dummy plugs. If they haven't been don't it's not if they are bad...
Very hard to diag without looking at some type of info from the ecm to give you direction. At that point I would just try IPR. If no change your just throwing time and parts at it without scanning it. I've seen a shorted injector shut one down like that as well so again very hard to say what the...
Your answer is yes a high pressure pump will just quit working and give up the fight but that doesn't mean this is your problem. I would connect a scan tool and look at IPR duty cycle % and ICP pressures while cranking and see if ICP pressure increases. That will give you more of an idea where...
I would suspect a faulty cluster (known problem in 2005 -2007) if your speed sensors at wheels are operating and input and output signals are present the data being interpreted by the cluster is not being done properly. Obviously see if you can find a schematic from where the cluster receives...
In building race engines it's very common to torque and loosen multiple times when using multi layer head gaskets. The method to me is fine but the end torque number is way different then other manufactures. Only thing I can think of is other manufactures products are made of different materials...
Let me clarify. What you're doing is torquing cylinder heads in sequence to 70 foot pounds. Loosen heads back up. Repeat steps three times to seat in threads and seat in head gaskets. At that point final torque to 160 foot pounds and torquing is complete.

I have the paperwork from A1 1722 studs. Their info says the torque procedure being 70lbs 3 different times to seat threads. I'm fine with all this. I'm looking at total torque value. A1 says end value of 160 lbs. Most of their competitors ( now I realize different materials used making the...
What are the front wheel abs sensors reading while reading data stream on abs module? See if there is a variance between that and MPH. In my experience the abs sensors don't run the speedos anymore they run off speed sensors in the transmission. Your scan gauge is most likely looking into the...
Pull the coolers go get
Some stainless steel plugs and find a buddy who's good with a tig welder. Block em up bypass the Coolant and reinstall.

First buy the big cab corner. There are 2 out there one of them is just a slip on of the shell the other is a whole thing that ties into the rocker. It's basic metal work drilling spot welds and welding the new one back on. Sounds stupid but on the TRUCKS tv show on spike they do quite a bit of...
The biggest cost is the sheet metal and headlights. I was lucky as hell to find the whole front clip for $1500. That's unheard of so I scooped it up as quick as I could drive. The bracket kit from mcnasty customs was about $500. That's without paint. Your going to be doing a lot of fabricating...
My old 96 extended cab long bed. Did a full 2wd to 4wd conversion on it. Sad to say I sold it. Only vehicle I ever missed.
