I got my sons working same issue there is a thermal resistor in the actuator motors that gets weak or opens up . I put aluminum foil over the little flat resistor and works just fine. I think it’s there in case switch hangs up. There are some videos on this on the web.

Hooked straight to pump via can of diesel all new hoses between pump and filter.
