    I've towed 5th wheels and bumper pulls for years and never leave em plugged in once the truck is parked. At least not for more than a few hours, but it has always been my experience it will kill your battery if left over the weekend etc...

    Hate to be that guy and ask, but did you wiggle the steering wheel either way while turning the key? The wheel lock hasn't engaged? Dunno, I'm not a newer truck guy but I've busted more than 1 ignition lock cylinder that way. I know I know, I'm a dumbass :doh:

    I have not tried it myself. I did pay the core fee and kept my old starter. Waiting on a 6.7 starter from the local wrecker and then I'm going to try the swap. Might be a couple of months, as I work in camp.
