So does that mean that maybe I could get away with just putting a better torque convertor in it, or would it require better internals as well? I don't believe it has a high load miss, but I'm not a tech either.

I see this tread is getting old but I have a slightly different problem. My truck has a Shutter/vibration that only shows up in 5th gear lockup when pulling a 5K lbs or larger trailer down the freeway. As soon as i get the convertor to unlock in fifth gear it goes away and is nice and smooth...

I've ran Tadd's from Elite Diesel, Eric's (Innovative Diesel), and Matt's (Gearhead Automotive Performance). I think they all made great power and each had their own pluses, but for how/ where I drive, I like Matts SRL as my daily driver. I have found Matt's customer service superior as well...
