I got stranded on the way to work the other day and as I'm waiting for the tow truck

I'm going through all the possibilities in my head and I narrowed it down to the fuel pump

Anyway, I got home and started testing things and within five minutes I narrowed it down to the fuel pump relay

I'm running my own sort of E fuel situation
But anyway

The heads up is

Be careful of these square, Chinese relays

They don't put any glue or silicone when they snap the cap on

The internals were completely Rusty, due to possible water infiltration, and then also condensation

But anyway, the replacement that I bought was securely siliconed in place

And I also have a spare in the glove box
Just because...

Good looking out!
Sorry it landed you on the side of the road.
Probably the same reason we only use oem sensors and not the alternatives.

That is nasty. Glad it was an easy fix.

We fought that same problem on the air pump for the rear bags on my pickup. We actually took a rubber work glove. Put the relay in it and wrapped it best we could with electrical tape. Even that would only last a couple years.

Finally moved the relay inside the cab.

Admittedly it's a small pump for just the bags, but I left the whole thing in the cab. Should last a lot longer that way.
