    Heui Injection

Seeing that the "pump" camshaft spins at half crank speed, and Charles mentioned 50° of advance (although that seems entirely too much?) that translates into 25° BTDC of crankshaft for camshaft for lobe start. Not taking into account any initial ramp or delay. Is 60% of injection BTDC a decent...

    Heui Injection

When creating the pump housing, would it utilize tappets, pushrods and rockers? Roller followers like MOD motors? My thought being rocker ratio could be adjusted to create the necessary plunger travel for the application, and may help utilize existing cam lobe geometry. That's beyond me though...

    Heui Injection

Oh man! After reading many a Charles post over the years, I had a giddy moment to see a new one! This one doesn't disappoint either... I'm following, and I'm imagining the potential. I have a few thoughts/questions I'm imagining you are talking a 'housing' with 4 cam lobes driving 8 unit pumps...

    Ported 7.3 heads

I can't help you with pictures or experience. David Vizard has some books on it and the theory behind it though. Video's on youtube also.

    S464 vs s467 for compounds

I'm in for the results as I want to do this for my '60 someday. I have seen a kit offered aftermarket that uses the 464 as the HP, which I'd assume would be the better choice. What is the wastegate setup? Internal that bypasses to the gt55? External may up flow and reduce that drive pressure...

Getting rid of drone at ~2000 rpm

2 things: 1) I believe those resonators have a flow limit, and high HP trucks gained power and lowered EGTs when removed. Not saying your situation warrants removal, just a point to maybe research. I personally run a Diamond Eye Resonator on my Ex. right after the DP. 2) The J-Pipe is tunable by...

    Do it all tire recommendations

I had a similar experience with the Goodyears I mentioned earlier. I felt like I was driving a boat, plenty of lateral movement. It's caused by aggressive treads, with softer material. I could move each lug around with my thumb. As the tires wear, the height of the lugs get shorter and stability...

    Early 6.7 with a 10 speed

With how intertwined PCM BCM and TCMs are in the newer vehicles, I'm trying to wrap my head around how this would be done. Pre-6.7 a manual transmission PCM could be used with a stand alone TCM, but 6.7 wasn't used with a manual. I wonder if there's a way to use medium duty parts? Didn't they...

Those who have gone to 2005+ axles

They have different circuits front and rear, and a proportioning valve to allocate pressure. When I said traditionally, I should have been more specific and said from disc/drum to disc/disc. On top of that, master cylinders can vary in size pretty dramatically, which changes the pressure ratio...

Those who have gone to 2005+ axles

I don't have definite answers, but traditionally swapping from drum to disc the master needs swapping, along with the proportioning valve. Drum vs. Disc takes a different amount of fluid to operate, and iirc drums need more pressure sustained in the lines to stay adjusted correctly. Something...

    Latest mods for 23x/100s

Yep. At least in '15 Tim did. I really don't know what they are, because didn't he say long ago that he rated them at certain parameters, where other builders rated max flow above what was possible in truck. However he said it, I thought he was saying they would flow more than others 238s...

    Latest mods for 23x/100s

Quick recap, I already have 230/100s (yes P.I.S.), 1st Gen KC38R (late '15 W/1.0 housing), new up-pipes, Hydra, full 4" exhaust. I also have a stage 2 Wyse 4R100 on order. Currently also have the original cnc 4-line feed, but I did something transferring from one truck to another so 1 line...

    Latest mods for 23x/100s

Injectors are 230/100s. Sorry, I probably should have also thrown that in the text. The 4000 RPM was just an example of a threshold, not what I'm looking for. Like saying: above 40 psi boost you need head studs. I just want to understand at what point you need certain parts/upgrades. Years ago...

    Do it all tire recommendations

I'm not sure if it's still the case or not, but Goodyear offered some of their tires with a choice of compounds. I apparently got the soft ones because they lasted 22k on my 01 ZF6 untuned, ladder rack and 15-20% towing. 28k on a tuned '00 Cummins. Half gone at 12k on a V10 Excursion. I...

    Latest mods for 23x/100s

Looking for current thinking I guess. This will be my '00 Forged rod Ex, 3.73 and stock to 33" tire. Towing won't be often or too heavy, even if I get another TT it'll be 12k or less. Elevation around here is around 700 ft. That out of the way, I have the injectors already, and currently have...
