Got a call from a friend of mine that is the equivalent of me in a parallel world with Chevy trucks. He was at an estate auction and accidentally bought an F-350, but it didn't run well. "Could you stop by and take a look?" Ooooooof, as soon as I saw the headlights, that's a 6.4L.

"You ****ed up dude."

Pulled codes to cylinder 6 misfire, glow plug circuits failure, VIN number missmatch, every possible ABS fault, DPF faults, etc.

"No, this isn't just gonna be a put a hone down the bores inframe with a new set of headgaskets."

"Oh. Would you want it for parts..."

So now I have a new 6.4L. Dang it. Plan is to keep the axles and frame to put a 1995 460, Holley Terminator, ZF5, 1356 combo in it, and my 1979 F-150 Lariat body on it. I'll set the engine aside for parts for my '08.

First question I have is the 5R110 the same behind the 6.4L as the 6.0L so I'd keep that as a spare for my '05?

You will need a 6.0 converter to run the trans, the 6.4 has an 8 stud converter, where the 6.0 is a 6 stud, and the 6.4 flec plate is obviously not balanced correctly for a 6.0. Could potentially put an aftermarket flex plate on it, most of the sfi certified ones have multiple holes for multiple converter patterns.

I moved it today and it was weird starting as I was stomping for a clutch.
