Hey yall,

I had P0202 cylinder #2 (inj open circut). Miss, no white smoke or other issues, just the miss. Pulled it, had 490ohms resistance compared to others .9. Assume actuator toast. Least it wasn't hung open.

Ordered reman injector, and new harness for drivers side. Reman inj ohm same as others.

Installed and inspected all looked good.

Started and idled 30 min to fill coolant. Smooth idle and rev up smooth. No codes.

Drive 5 miles to open thermostats and check coolant.

Massive white smoke. Cyl # 2 contribution and imbalance. Cannot maintain rail pressure.

Is it possible I got a piece of **** injector, or do I have deeper problems?

Thanks for any help!

Did you torque the injector properly? What brand injector? Is there any metal in the secondary fuel filter bowl?

Yes. Carquest Inj.

Will check for metal, had to rent truck and head for Tennessee.

Seems very coincidental. Same hole, inj actuator failure, replace and then hung open reman.

I’d go with what he said too^

As long as it’s torqued correctly, parts store parts are typically ****
