You can port heads to flow more air and stuff more air to the point when the combustion chamber size just can not squeeze and more power out of it. Again a compound set will only flow as much as the size of the low compressor in the system, and one turbo is more efficient than two and makes more power. There is much more than to just increase the turbo sizes and think that the horsepower will still keep increasing, just doesn't work that to a certain point.
