Yup and yup.

All I do all day long is install OE filters and caps and tell people how to reuse the cap with a new cartridge.

Chances are it didn't kill this particular 6.4, as it has almost 10k hours on it.

It's so tight and even when it does pop off with throttle it'll only run for a few seconds before it gets tight. Making all sort of good noises

Yea. Napa filters for the 6.0/6.4 are a no no. Glad you are doing tour part in warning folks about them!

Yea, it might not have killed it. But if that's all they used that could be a big contribution to the problem.

Just looked, my 6.4 has almost 317k miles on it. But only 7662 hours! So that pickup saw a lot if idle time. And that's hard on a engine.

My entire life is basically hours vs miles. Lol

Literally the worst block prep ever. This engine had about 7 blown out Gaskets spots. All prep by hand.
