    7.3 Died and Won't Restart

Yeah, the drips were happening even before it was running though. The drips were about every 15-20 minutes when it wasn't running. When it was running, it was about every 5 seconds. I will clean it though and see what happens.

    7.3 Died and Won't Restart

Well, I feel it's best to give a conclusion to these threads. I can't count how many posts I went through search for a solution on the different forums and no resolution was provided. My $100 was safe. The gear was torqued per spec. It was the IPR. I had my wife crank the engine and I...

    7.3 Died and Won't Restart

I read on thedieselstop that someone else had the same issues and their HPOP gear bolt was loose (as suggested by others). I doubt it's loose, but I'm gonna check it. On the gear side, that drains back to pan, right. There isn't any standing oil in there? I don't need to pump the reservoir...

    7.3 Died and Won't Restart

OK, I'll have to look in the AE to see if it can monitor commanded ICP. I'd bet $100 that the gear is tight. I remember specifically torquing it because I was trying to torque it and keep the gear from spinning by myself. Too much of a coincidence that I changed tunes on the Hydra and the...

    7.3 Died and Won't Restart

DO you mean ICP voltage or duty cycle? I see the duty cycle climb to 95% when cranking.

    7.3 Died and Won't Restart

I can double check the voltage, but I know it's over the 10.5V required. Battery charger is on it when cranking and they are fairly new batteries. IPR stuck should give some residual ICP, not 0.0 psi is seems. IPR only has about 5000 miles on it. Took apart last night and everything seemed...

    7.3 Died and Won't Restart

HPOP reservoir is full. Removed IPR and took it apart even though it's fairly new. Seemed clean. Resistance of 10 ohms sounds in the ball park. Put back in and tried again and got the same thing. Crank for 20 seconds or more and it builds Low Pressure (dash gauge and mechanical gauge)...

    7.3 Died and Won't Restart

Hello All, My saga continues.... After quite some time, getting married, dealing with family issues and etc, I finally had a chance to get my engine in my truck. Fired it up last. Romped a little and then started to smooth out. Shut down, checked for leaks, and topped off the fluids...

    Steel Washers?

Thanks everyone. Guess I won't worry about it since all of the studs have washers under them. The studs are new this time because the other ones had been torqued about 5 times.

    Steel Washers?

I'm not 100% sure where they are from. They were in a bag that had bolts for the oil cooler and intake manifold and stuff like that. I've had these engines apart quite a few times and it isn't clicking where it would go. I just want to make sure they weren't for something internal that...

    Steel Washers?

Hey All, After about a year of life events and family illness and etc, I'm finally trying to bolt the external stuff on my engine and get the old dinosaur running again. Been a long journey. Anyway, my engine builder removed some of the external stuff from the engine and tanked everything and...

    7.3L Miss at Mid-RPM

I still have my homemade crossover in place.

    7.3L Miss at Mid-RPM

There's about 4000 miles on the engine since it was built. The engine builder told me I didn't need to retorque them. He said they were good once he torqued them originally. I'm not sure. Hope he didn't lead me astray. I haven't completely put the wood to it yet. I've been driving on trial...

    7.3L Miss at Mid-RPM

I wasn't going to say anything, but Tim reached out to me in a PM and asked if he could help in any way. Never met him, don't know him, never bought anything from him in the past, but still offered to help. Golfer at Swamps is the same. Except, I have bought stuff from them for my truck...

    7.3L Miss at Mid-RPM

PIS went through them. They found some scarring on some components and some of the flows at different pulse widths weren't the same across the board minus some expected error. The scatter was higher then you'd like to see. They repaired the worn parts and got the flows a lot more consistent...
