    Its caused by a lack of flow through the cooler (plugged inline filter or the cooler itself), low trans fluid level or filter issue. If that all checks out you have an internal pump issue.

    Start by checking for a steady AC voltage at the speed sensor. If the signal looks clean check the signal at the PSOM. 12 terminal connector, Red/Pink (R/PK) and Light Green/Black (LG/BK) wires. If the signal is steady but the speedo is still dropping out, suspect a PSOM failure, or your loosing...

    Can anyone how so much stuff finds its way to the pump? Is there not a pickup screen?

    Could it be the circlip from the top of a lifter? Of course the lifter would have just fallen apart as soon as the pushrod came out. Maybe remnants from a previous failure?

    There isnt much to fail in an oil pump, seems like there is bigger issues. Did you change the oil yet? Any chance you cut the filter open to take a peek?

    Yeah, just add a balance tube between the pumps and run a line to each head.
