Even if you have zero fab skills, there's no way you wouldn't be able to do it with a stick of angle iron, some bolts, a drill and an angle grinder. It all depends on how well you can visualize stuff in your head.

Wow thanks. It's so clear now on how hard it would be.
Obviously people HAVE figured it out as there are many OBS trucks with 08 bumpers out there. A while back I even saw a link to some web site selling the brackets needed. Get the bumper, mock it up and figure out what is needed, how hard can it be?

No prob man I've been debating going this route for quite some time just waiting on the right price for an 08-10 bumper for myself.

nice, my bumper is hanging off my 97....it needs a radiator support, injectors need rebuilding or o-rings or the hpop is crapping out, fenders are starting to have holes in them, and the bed is starting, so i gotta either move the truck or put 3-4k into it and keep using it for work. I'm already into it for 12k maybe 13k that's quite a bit for obs 7.3 with 290k on it.

Seven.Three 81 did this
Used my brackets off old bumper an the brackets on the 6.4 one . had to take side brackets off the 6.4 for wheel space. Used 2 inch spacers an bolted it to stock frame mounts

so could save money and time on new brackets

Any pics of the brackets you made?
