I have been playing with rear brakes for some time and trying to figure out how to run a 99.5-04 based rear brake setup on the rear of a 05-12 f250 without changing hubs, axles, and rotors from a 99.5-04 rear axle which then changes wheel offset. I figured there must be another way. So after alot of measuring and buying a 2001 f250 rear axle complete to study and compare to my 08. I figured out parking brake assembly bracket, Which caliper bracket bolts too, are the same on both models with exception of mounting holes enlarged on 05 up rear ends for larger caliper brackets. So I have proceeded to have caliper brackets holes modified from old style brakes to accommodate our larger mounting bolts. And I had a rotor fabricated from my 08 model to match the old style specs height and width of the old style brakes system rotor. Well let's say it all works. Bolts up as stock would. All clearances just as older models were. But keeps all offset same as stock. Basically a converted bracket and rotor get the job done. Don't know how many people would be interested in this but on a 2wd track truck it's a must. Actually nets 15" in overall caliper diameter now where stock was like 16.25". Now a 16" wheel is bolt on friendly. Note: 13 up trucks have some brake changes so this is not confirmed on them. But I will study this next time I get a 13 up in the shop. Thanks.

This is the tire setup I'll be running on a 16x12 Bogart race wheel. Going smaller diameter wheel, wider, and taller. Tire is basically a 33x12.50-16.

Thanks. I know 2wd are not as popular as 4wd. But this is something that would definitely help hooking a 2wd up. And they make 33" slicks in 16" all day

Thanks guys. I get into something and it drives me crazy until I figure it out. Next may be a dual caliper bracket using stock based holes with 2 of these small calipers. Hopefully my buddy with all the right cnc tools is ready for a challenge.

Yes it should help alot for wheel selection. I have been working with Rich at Bogart wheels and he has all the 8 lug program stuff done and ready if anyone is interested in custom offset lightweight wheels. He is building a 16x12 to replace my current 18x11 so I should be set in the tire dept.

I was looking at Real Wheels for a DRW pulling set up. They just started a 17" wheel this past year. But they are alot more then the 15 & 16 that they have been making for years.

Oh ok nice. I'm glad to know that. I talked to them last year and I know he said they were fixing to make 17s. Which I wanted to run. Until I found out tallest drag radial was 29.5" tall. In a 17". Then hoosier released their 30" tall drag radial in 18". Which I have on truck now. But Diameter is still way to small to handle the torque. It wants to hook but anything other than an idle launch kills them.

Guys this is what my current setup is with stock brakes. It's a 18x11 with 8" bs. 325-45-18 which is 30" tall. 16x12s coming to replace these so I can run 33s".

Did you make any passes with this setup (above), 60' times? It would be cool to do a back to back comparison between the 18" setup then 16".
Big thank you for the time you put it. Us 2wd guys really appreciate it.. I might need to look at this next year

This has been an interesting project with Robby. I think we finally got it figured out. Robby has spent a lot of time measuring and playing around with different combinations. I'll be machining up a few sets of the final design this week hopefully so we can be ready for our new wheels we have coming. We both ordered the same set of front and rear wheels earlier this year and they have worked really well considering it was about the best option we had at the time. With the new brake design, our 2wd's will really benefit from the taller, wider tire with more sidewall.

On a side note, our current rear wheels and tires would be awesome for someone running a 4wd. Taking our two sets and putting a set on the front and a set on the back would be a great setup. I would be willing to let my rears go if Robby would want to sell his as well.

Here's a picture of my truck and a time slip from our local "track" if that's what you would call it. It's an old airstrip and lacks a lot in the starting line area. I couldn't launch with any more than about 8 pounds of boost because the starting line just wasn't there. On a good track, I could easily see a 1.60 60 foot out of the setup, if not better. (The best run I had on my Nitto 420's, aired way down, was a 13.86 so you can see how well the slicks worked)

If me and Dallas were not so far apart. We would be dangerous with our intelligence! Great to meet someone who has the capability to create anything. This will be a great option for 2wd guys which appears to be on the rise.

08 Thanks for the information! Always good to see guys trying new setups and learning new things that work for us.

If you guys decide to sell the 4 18x11s give me a shout, I'd be interested!

We will do that. Me and Dallas are very picky so they look brand new of course. It would be awesome for a 4x4 race setup because of the weight. We are waiting on the replacements now so as soon as they are here we can release these. Thanks.

Like Robby said, the ones we have are very well taken care of and have little use. They will work extremely well on a 4x4.
