2000 Ford Excursion

Hey everyone. I'm looking at purchasing a 2000 Ford Excursion. 4X4 4r100 trans. Issue that's apparent is weird shifts. No overdrive. Two transmission codes (od button flashing) P0781 1-2 shift error 3-4 shift error. I'm not a transmission guy but where should I start looking? Could it be the shift solenoids or a clutch/ internal hard part failure? Any help would be great! Thanks

If your transmission was built between 27 July 2000 and 23 March 2001, you have the mechanical diode. These love to fail and should be replaced. This and/or overdrive clutch burn-out would show these symptoms iirc... Again, Mark K is the man with the plan on these beasts... Literally...
