It's called torque management. There are a ton of paramenters. One is that it only allows so much on a startup. Can't apply full commanded pedal input until movement is attained. Mine was the same way stock.

He is gonna try turning the traction control off when he gets home. I'll let yall know if that does it. Thanks for the information and advice.
