I have a core 4r100 I picked up cheap that I am going to build for a 4wd conversion. I am in need of a rebuild kit I noticed there are 2 different trans rebuild kits 1 for 99-00 and 01 and up how do I tell what trans I have.

I have disassembled it already. The internals look good just want to freshen it up.

Didn't this have to do with the mechanical diode (earlier trans) and it's elimination in the later trans?

Thought I could be wrong but that's where I'd start.

This one does not have a mechanical diode. Is there a date code or some other marking
