6.0L ???

ive recently bought a 04 f350 reg cab long bed with 6.0L. Im getting blue smoke at idle. cold or warm. anyone got ideas. itd help alot.

have you checked the blow by at the oil fill?

No i havent. Im a new be with a diesel.

What are the ambient temps? Are you tuned? Whats your FICM voltage?

Its got nothing to do with blowby.

No tunes. All stock. Havent checked FICM voltage.

EGR valve could be stuck.. May need cleaning.. Does it run okay other than the smoke?

Havent pulled codes. Yeah runs great other than the smoke.

so i wasnt able to get anywhere to check the codes tonight. but went and started my truck and while idling. it was dinging. got home and it wasnt blowing blue smoke. shut it off and it wouldnt start. just kept cranking. anyone got ideas?

Dinging?? There are so many things it could be, IPR,HPOP,Fuel pump, You need to get it scanned so that you can replace the right part and not be shotgunning stuff..
