Alternator trouble

Battery light keeps popping up, and goes away. Fiddled with the connection on the alternator and when unplugged the light goes off. I'm 99.9% sure it's an alt issue, I'm just wondering if there is more than one alternator and the light is going off because the second one is picking up the load?

I just can't understand why the battery light goes OFF when the alt is unplugged. It should be drawing voltage bad at that point I would assume

Some trucks have dual alternators. Look underneath on the passenger side.

Ok, well if it's a situation where I have duals would it be kosher to just change the one? I figured dual alts was more of an ambulance type of deal. I'll take a look regardless
