Boost leak help

08 F250 sounds like it is coming from under the vgt controller. Is very faint at idle but comes up with boost not rpm so I'm thinking it is not up pipes. still builds full boost but builds a little slower than normal with a little more smoke obviously. Is there a seal that is down there or am I looking at a turbo?

Do you still have the EGR pipe on the back of the engine?

Pipe is still there ya. This is coming from in front of that and there is no soot buildup that I can see. I've checked the blocker plate. Checked the fire wall as well

I would check closely. When mine was leaking it took a while to find it. Are sure that you are hearing a leak or the VGT trying to close the vanes and they are making a different noise.

No we ran the vgt through its cycle on a computer and it was fine and the air is still there

Check the u tube that the fuel cooler bolts too. The bolts have been known to back out or break.
