EGT probe

Hey guys,

Last night on the highway my egt gauge just dumped to 0. no reading at all. Before this it worked for the several months I have owned it. Gauge is Autometer Z series. Is the likely culprit the probe? Just looking for some experience before I go digging around senselessly. Thanks!

Check all connections obviously.. I chased similar issue down for weeks. I was told the thermo couplers rarely go bad so I was focused on everything else but it was in fact thermo.

Check wires at firewall to make sure they aren't bent or cut

I will check the firewall first because I was messing around the other night wiring in an amplifier, thank you, I most likely would have not come to that conclusion!

Check the ground for that gauge... Maybe try isolating it..

More then likely its a ground issue. Make sure the two pyro wires are not touching or have not chaffed the wiring at all.

Nice thing about Isspro gauges, if there is a problem the gauge goes to MAX reading.
