engine swap 03 truck with 06 engine

is it possible to put a 06 engine in a 03 truck i know you would have to extend the icp wires but just curious if anyone had done this or could give me some pointers before i start the swap.

Yes its possible. How complete is this 06 motor? If it has an intact 06 harness use it. The motor mounts are slightly different between the 03 & 06 motors and I've always put the mounts that were on the original motor on the swap motor. Before you put the 06 motor in do all the high pressure oil system updates.

the 06 motor is comming out of a running truck so it has everything on it i wasnt sure about the pcm and ficm

Keep your original PCM. Take the ficm for a spare. Having an extra ficm laying around is always good.

From what I've read on the boards they are different and won't interchange without issues. It's definitely something I wouldn't try swapping. But he will be able to plug the 06 engine harness into his 03 PCM without any problems.
