First Powerstroke, First Diesel

hello PSA!! this weekend i will be picking up a 2000 F-350 SRW ECSB. i managed to grab it up and a gmc sierra for a package deal of $ 5,000. its got 246k on the clock. and the only issues i have found so far or have been made aware of is that the bed is rusted and dented up pretty bad. cab corners are rusted. and the transmission is in limp mode, yet still driveable. i am thinking it may be an electrical issue or tune problem maybe?? i hope to gain a lot of knowledge from you guys on here and help me restore this thing to its prime!oh yea, a little bit about me. i am in they navy currently, so i am sure i will be floating around to a lot of the areas you guys are in. right now im in the Maine area on a new ship being built. hopefully soon i will be heading to warmer clients!

Welcome to PSA and seems like a pretty decent deal. My old 99 7.3 has around 220k and is still running strong minus the steering wander it has from time to time.

tighten the set screw on top of the gear box a hair at a time.

I tightened it down and it made it a little better but still will wonder from time to time. Has all new ball joints and drag link and bushing put in the front end. The only thing I think it could be is a worn shock on the front end since it sags just a little on the front driver side. Maybe a 1/8 - 1/4" lower than pass side.

a full diag will be run when i take possession this weekend. i will keep you guys up to date of course. i just hope these damn snow storms will let up so i can go get her!!

so turns out the trans will not go into first or O/D. and will not automatically shift between 2-3. any ideas? and yes i got two trucks for that price not one.
