My truck starts to rock at idle after 1000-1500 miles running it. It sucks. Only reason I put it back in os for easier cold starts since I was having an issue. Going back to delo 15-40 from Walmart next oil change. Runs so much better on that.

Interesting. I've ran it for last 50k miles being changed every 7k. I haven't noticed any issues but will pay attention to it.

My 01 was my first diesel. I ran rotella in it the first few oil changes because that's what everyone told me to run. It got to the point to where I thought the injectors were shot and I was going to park it. I changed the oil just so it would have fresh in it while it sat and I put some cheap fleet oil out of a drum that my boss man had for his work trucks and equipment and as soon as I fired it you could tell it was great! Idle was smooth and it ran perfect. Never put rotella in it again!

Also continuing on with my maintenance, I'm now moving onto the steering and wheel studs.

I was going to start on wheel studs today but figured... since I have to pull the rotors off to replace studs anyway I might as well do the brakes! So I'll be ordering EBC dimpled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads in the AM.

Also noticed a little play in my steering and tracked it down to my pitman arm being loose.. So picked up a new arm and nut today, then while under there remembered the gearbox had a lifetime warranty so I also pulled it off and returned it for a new one which i'll also pick up tomorrow. It's free, why not. Peace of mind :)

After my wheels next week will come the first time I put my truck in the shop or pay someone else to do something on it.... it's gonna get a coolant flush, and I'm not gonna be the one to do it haha. I've contemplated it for a while and I'm just not comfortable doing it.

Very nice man! I really dig pinstripes myself. If I ever make it to your side of the state I have to check your truck out.

I love the pinstriping!!!

I have a set of chrome "superduty" stickers for the tailgate laying in my glovebox. If you want them you can have them.

But I'm not sure of it would look good or be too much for the rear end.... I know the chrome letters would match the chrome on the bumper great!

I think that would look killer. It would definitely tie the handle, emblem, and bumper together.

Ya know... i had a set laying around too, it came with the ones I put on the grille surround but I don't have a clue what happened to em!

I debated putting em on then when I first got em but coudn't decide if it'd be too much....same problem now with the pinstriping. I don't want it to seem like there's too much goin on ya know?

Trust me, I know... I keep looking at it, but I just can't vision it. I just think it may be one of those grey areas that it's fine if you don't, but fine if you do.
May be better to let sleeping dogs lay...

yeah that's how i'm feeling it. it looks clean n simple how it is now, and who knows it might with em too, but i'll just leave it be for now. once the wheels are on it'll have more than enough shiny pieces to tie everything together

Right on. What's the wait time for them? And I'm guessing you still haven't told anyone the size yet.....

Oh I think it's in here somewhere. I'm waiting on 24x16 Fuel Forged, I've been waiting 5 weeks now. The shop tells me they're in NC so I should see them early next week...
