Hi, not sure of this is the right place to post, but I'm having some problems with my starter and truck in general.

My problem occurred after I removed the engine and separated it and the transmission. I did a new seal on the input shaft of the transmission then put the tranny and engine back together and back into the truck.

I have everything back in and I tried starting the truck and it fired right up. The only problem is the god awful grinding noise. It was constant. When the truck started and ran.

I pulled the inspection cover off and the teeth look like they have ware, but nothing abnormal. I also put in a new starter today, batteries a week ago, and I connected the two pins on the relay and the relay is in working order.

I'm positive I pit everything back in properly, crank spacer, flexplate, torque converter etc.

Anything I should be looking for? I've tried just about everything I can think of to fix this and nothing has worked, anything would be appreciated.

Thanks

Did you put the fly wheel on the right direction? It has a offset.

I'm assuming it was starting fine before you pulled the motor?

How old is the starter?
