Well a little after a year and 15,000 miles my hg let go again. The truck is only running a studded tune from gear head and a hot ficm for power adder. I didn't expect to have this problem ever again. I used extreme studs and followed every write up and the workshop manual to the T. I'm kind of at a loss for how this happened. The only thing I can think of is this but I was assured it was not an issue but the person I bought them from.

I don't know man, looks like a pretty good scratch to me.
Is that where the gasket failed? Or could you tell?

I kept blowing hgs within 5k of having them done with studs and oem gaskets by Ford. Come to find out that I had a low spot on the block and that was where they kept blowing. The low spot was still within ford specs but with a tune, that was my weak spot. I ended up getting o-ringed heads. Even though my heads were flattened, it wasn't enough clamping force.

Holy hell is that one hell of a gouge. I'd say yes that's your problem. There is no way a MLS gasket would be able to seal that

Last few I've done were just the Victor Reinz. O ringed heads but of course stay away from the junk Chinese castings

Does it still leak on a lower tune? Or at stock power levels? And are you still in Germany?

No im back in the states now, in kansas. I haven't checked yet, when I get home from vacation I'll load the non studded tune. I don't think it will leak at all stock.

Return it to stock and trade it in if you want to get rid of it. Most dealers will send it to an auction with the mileage anyways.

That was my thought, I don't mind screwing a dealership, but I won't do.it to a person.

Talked to a shop today and they think it's leaking between layers on the High tune. That should only happen If there is a low spot on the block right? Thinking about just driving it on the stock tune instead of fixing it again.

Can anyone comment on how the block prep looked? I'm trying to figure out where I could have gone wrong before I pull it apart.
