how much lift is required to clean some 40" tires with 14 wide rims with no rubbing issues while at full lock ?

With stock bumpers youll need 12" minimum. And you still might hit the front bumper a bit. With 37s on a 14 wide you really need to space bumper up a little and be on 10" to be clear. Or cut up the front bumper a bit.

Im bumping up to 10" and a STMW bumper to clear my 14 wides with tons of space and 37s. Don't need 40s or I was gonna go to 12"

12" will work with trimming on a stock bumper, 14 will give it all the clearance you need.

we all run 35" on 10" & a leveling kit no problem. I can't imagine 37/38 would be much worse, but your desire to have those really wide wheels is going to cause you grief.

Nitto's 37" on 22" for example specs out a 8.5-11" wheel. W/ the 40" on 24" you can get up to a 14" wide wheel, but IMHO you are gonna be causing yourself a lot of unnecessary grief that wide. Can you say 'curb feelers'?

A 37" on a 10" wide wheel with the right offset and you could be running a 4-6" lift. Yea, I know, too reasonable.

Good luck with your decision.

I can stuff 39s on my truck if I wanted to. And with just a 2.5in lift, wpuld need some trimming.. BUT this is with the correct offset. When people want their whole tire outside of the fender. Be ready for a big lift.

I'm not sure the difference needed for clearance between your body style and my 04.. but I have a 6.5" lift and 37's on my truck right now and I have PLENTY of room in terms of clearance. I'm talking, I could probably squeeze 40's in (it would be close). Offset/backspace has a lot to do with it too. I think you could make it work with a 10" and be good.

I got 10in and 38s with 14 wides and I clear mine perfect with some to spare .. You could do 10in with 40s with just a bumper spacer .. You just won't be able to flex it much or it will rub.. But 12in would look better with 40s tho
