How to PTM your Ford 3D Emblems.

How to tell if you have the 3D emblems----> Run your fingers over the emblems and you will feel the outline of the FORD and outer ring.

I'm not a body guy, I dropped off the emblems at my friend's body shop since I was doing a PTM grill surround done at the same time. I know he told me that he needed to use an adhesion promoter on all the parts.

I bought a set of emblems so I didn't have to drive around without emblems on my truck.

Front grille (13").....BC3Z-8213-A
Rear camera emblem (7").....CL3Z-9942528-B
Rear camera base.....AL3Z-19H511-A
PTM grille surround.....BC3Z-8200-BPTM

My truck's color is Shadow Black, paint code G1

The back of the stock emblems. To seperate the emblems, you want to grind away the mushroomed/rivet. I used a dremel to grind away the mushroomed plastic. Once everything is grinded, you just push out the blue part with a suitable tool. The painting part is up to you.

Here are the emblems back from the paint shop. The small piece is the center of the "D" and the center of the "F" script end.

I used a 2 part plastic epoxy from Kem Automotive that I got as a sample.

The rear emblem just pops off. On the bottom of the emblem is a notch, very carefully, not to scratch anything, insert a small tool to pry it out. Once you get some clearance between the emblem and camera base, it comes right out.

Nice. Im not criticizing your work but rather stating what i like, but anyway, i like when both aspects are painted. Like black but then silver or dark grey for the ford letters.

Given the way you did your grill I see why you fid it that way and it looks fantastic! Thats a very clean look you gave on that dually.

How much do you have into everything?
I bought mine done just like that for a pretty dang good price but the front one needs touching up after 25K miles of abuse. I have my stock front emblem sitting around just for this occasion.
