Is straight exhaust hurting me?

My truck has stock sized exhaust but I have a muffler and cat delete pipe is this hurting me performance wise?

Sorry for the late reply been snowboarding in Austria, I asked this question before I researched and found out that the turbo maintains the back pressure so that's why I thought it could potentially hurt my performance... I was being lazy lol

wait, nope, make that at 37....


i do like the sound of the 5 inch straight but damn the powermax gets loud!!!

I have 4" on mine and my neighbors hate me, but they don't hate me nearly as much as the asshole with 6" on his cummins. I live in an apartment complex. I have the engine getting studded right now at Bleckman diesel. I'm excited to hear the mtw stage one when I get home at Christmas. I noticed a lot more power with a bigger exhaust and no cat or muffler compared to stock system.

try not to take the things you may know about how a gas engine performs and apply them to a diesel. I.E. exhaust backpressure post turbo.
