So over the last couple years I noticed that I was getting junk on the trany dip stick when I checked it and I wasn't the happiest camper to see this. I did a trany flush and it was a bit better but over the next year it got worse till I pulled the stick to see rust on it also.

I was having no trany slipping or weird shifting and the fluid had come out clean every time with no kibbles in the pan.

The trany dip stick tube on these trucks is 2 pieces and on some trucks the evaporator drain dumps water on the tube and it collects in the joint and causes rust and pealing of the paint in the tube. The top piece slides inside the lower so it acts like a cup.

In the end I replaced the 2 piece trany dip stick tube, liberally coated the joint with RTV, rerouted the AC evaporator drain and all is good in the trany world.
