Lifter Install

Putting my motor back together and I'm curious if the lifters are supposed to be installed a certain way. I wrote down how they came out. The oil holes were facing the same way on one side but on the other side it was different. So does it really even matter?

I just tore down my motor to be sent to the machine shop and was wonderin the same thing as I was takin my lifters out. I could be totally wrong but I don't think it matters. Just comparing the way yours faced to mine, they don't have any relation to one another. I would think if they had to go in a certain way, then they would be that way in all 7.3s.

Don't think it matters either. The oil hole can face towards the front of the engine or the rear. Either way they can still get oil from the gallery.
