mellino lpop gasket

Well I ordered a lpop off the net. When it got here the package was beat to piss. To the point where the instructions with it are shredded. I'm looking at the gasket that replaced the orange factory o ring, it's square. But it is also cut but it's at an angle almost like it suppose to be. Does anyone know if it's suppose to be solid or cut? And what's better a new oring or this seal? Thanks

Don't use the square oring. They leak. You need an orange oring from Ford. The part number is XC3Z-6619-AA

Can you get the LPOP off without removing radiator/intercooler. I have a Melling and a leak so hopefully that is the cause of it.

You have to pull the rad.
The pump is behind the harmonic balancer. To get the balancer off you need a puller. There's just not enough room with the rad in to do this.
Inter cooler can stay.

I've never had to pull the radiator to swap lpop....pull goes on, short inpact to get it loosened up, then use a wrench to pull it completely...

Probably depends on the puller you use. I pulled mine with the radiator in place. This is the kit I used.

If you use a 3/8 impact, and a small puller, no need to pull the rad.
