My new 2008 6.4 F-250. New to diesel advice encouraged.

I waited 10 years to buy a truck and for my 27th birthday I finally pulled the trigger. Picked up a 4x4 2008 F-250 XLT 6.4 turbo diesel with 80k miles.

This is my first diesel and although I did research my purchase I have a lot to learn about this truck so any advice and recommendations you all have are certainly welcomed.

Truck has had a lot of work done to it and the previous owner took great care of it.

Some of the upgrades include:
20" rims and 33" Toyo All terrains
Shell with rack. Also led lined.
Flip down TV for the kids
Alpine stereo, amp and sub
Banks intake and exhaust
Back up camera and sensors
And a few other little things here and there.

One of my biggest priorities/concerns is the truck came with a banks automind programmer. I know very little about so speak your mind and educate me please

welcome, and congrats on the truck.

I cant speak for everyone here but my suggestions would be remove the banks stuff.

I would look into tuning and ******** the truck and be sure to keep up on regular maintenance. too many of these trucks come to me that aren't kept up and owners wonder why they have major issues.

That's one of the main reason I'm here... to learn more about what I need to do to keep this thing up and running.

This is my first diesel and I want to make sure I don't make any naive bone headed mistakes.

What do you recommend over the banks? I'm in California too so although it just got smogged I don't want any issues in two years when I gotta go back

As mentioned above 6.4 are all about delet ing and maintenance. Most likely a site vendor will chime in and give you some options.
