ok here we go, ive got a 2004 late build 6.0 ccsb 4x4 lariat and i cannot get it to fire. the scanner brings up OPEN CAM SENSOR CIRCUIT everytime with no ficm sync and cmp fault when looking at the live data

the icp is new the ipr was swapped for a known good one.

we installed:
new FICM from alliant
new injectors from Holders
new cam sensor
new crank sensor
new cam sensor pigtail
reflashed both the ecm and ficm
re replaced the cam sensor
swapped in a known good engine harness out of my other truck along with the ECM out of it.
stand pipes and dummy plugs have been replaced.

ficm power is never below 47.5volts and input is never below 12volts cranking.

im at the end of my knowledge on this one. anyone care to chime in? if you need any other info let me know, im about to send the truck to ford and pay them the $120 to see what they can find.

Make sure no pins are bent on the ficm, then I would ohm out the cmp wires at the pcm and ficm.

ran through a pin point test on them and came up inconclusive. everything seemed to be fine. ill run through it again in the morning and post results.

ill double check ficm pins aswell

Check the wiring where it runs below the air box. Also, do you have rpm signal? Also try unplugging and plugging the pcm back in, i have had this fix a couple, including mine when it was in the body shop...

I was gonna suggest load testing the wiring from the pcm to the sensor with a headlight. Also check to see if the tone ring is loose.

How's the block surface around the cam sensor? Rust free?

Did you do as advised and actually load test the wiring from cmp?

I have not load tested the wiring to the cam sensor. How do you do it? I feel like since I have Sync but no Ficm sync and that I'm getting RPM on the scanner that should me I have cmp signal even though I'm not getting it on the dash

Tone ring is on the crank. Cam just has a dimple. It's super important that the cam Sensor bore and mating surface is super clean. But I think this is a wiring issue due to a open circuit.

You basically send current down the line by grounding one side of a head light and sending 12v down the suspect wire and see of headlight is bright or dim.
