Yea he was a dealership head diesel tech and left and started his own thing. Works on nothing but powerstrokes and to give you an idea and this isn't an exaggeration I'd say 6 out of 10 powerstrokes running around town have his liscence plate on the front of them. I normally take it to rudy's but this one time I took it to him.

and he also works on mainly stock trucks and doesn't get to much into the performance side. I'd venture to say mine is probably the highest hp truck he works on.

I was really hoping it was just rockers.

also if there was something really bad going on wouldn't it show up on an oil analysis?

Just did an oil change and went 10w30 route. My cold start tick is less noticeable (10 seconds max) and truck runs smoother.
I'm guessing that a lifter might be a little sticky or something. I'm on a fresh rebuild and everything is new.. I don't loose any sleep over it

Yea like it sat for a couple of days and I went out and started it up and you could really hear it. But it got substantially quieter within a few seconds of running so it's not even an oil temp thing.
