Dc alts are very good. And speaking from experience, having a h.o. alternator makes jumping off vehicles uber easy among other things

I just did the Amberlamps model when mine went out, 200a also.

ok...put a new alt on and noise is still there. pulled the belt completely off and noise is still there. definitely in the motor.
