reuse stock head bolts?

Can stock head bolts be reused? I picked up a t444e last night thats in great shape, but one head was removed. I just want to buy new head gaskets and put it together to see how it runs. Ive always used head studs, but never tried reusing head bolts. This will be just temporary to un it on my shop floor and do a compression test. Thanks

From what i recall they are a one time use. They stretch when torqued and arent recommended to reuse.

I have re-used 7.3l psd bolts before, motor ran fine & never poped a gasket, even when ran with 300/200's and a ht3b


But that don't mean it's correct/ right to re use them

Technically they are TTY. I would take that at face value and toss em in the scrap pile considering that you can get new bolts, or studs for that matter, for a lot less than the headache of pulling the motor out to do gaskets again.

New Ford gasket comes with new head bolts.
