I have 2 questions. Please only respond if you have done this or know the answers for sure.

I have a 2003 4x4 6.0 F350 small 8 lug.
I have 2002 F450 front 2wd Axle big 8 lug, steering components and gear box.

Here is the easy one...
For the front:
Everything bolts up from spindle, rotor, calipers, hub, adapter and wheel. What makes the F450 turn better, is it the gear box or having less of a "stop" on the spindle? If it's the gearbox, is any of the steering components different?

Here is the harder question.
For the rear
To run the 19.5" wheels is there a simple adapter that is made that will work? If so, link me to it.

If not, what is required to run the 19.5 big 8 lug pattern wheel.

Second what would be involved in using F450 brakes in the rear? I have access to those as well but I don't even know where to begin because my experience is limited to F250-F350 and F550 trucks... I have not messed with F450 round tube Dana 80's.

The reason the 450 turns better is because it is 2wd not 4wd. Also the 450 has a wider front end Ford use to call it Wide track.

Is the rear axle a Dana S 110 or a Dana 80
If it's the S110 braking systems I were different. On the newer models they are anyway.
1. I believe the spring perches are at different spacings.
2. The brakes are different systems if your not switching axles maybe you can cut the backing plate for the brakes off the axle and weld it onto the 350 axle.
3. If both axles are 80's pull the rear hubs off and see if they can be switched.

Is in an aluminum cover rear? or pumpkin pulls out the front? The 99-04 450 and 550 never seem to cut shorter to me. I have put a 450 box on a 250 truck. I did not notice any difference in the way the 250 turned or drove.

If you want a 100% answer on the boxes call redhead.

2wd would make the F450 turn better, a 4x4 F450 has the same front end as an F350. Except the dually spacer bolted on top of the rotor goes from 8x170 to the big 8 lug pattern. So I would assume a 4x4 F450 would turn the same.

For the rear end, I would pull the hub off the 450 axle spindle and see if it will fit the dana 80 under your 350. Update the thread with any info you find because I've never found a good solution to putting the 450 rear brakes and bolt pattern on a 350 aside from an axle swap.

A 4x4 front has the same housing, but has the bigger rotors etc.. then the 350. I think thats what trailhauler meant. I was just clearing up its not just the adapter that is different to run the 19.5 wheels.

I dont think you will have much luck on the rear.

This is what I came up with. F81Z-1A014-AB. About $100 each from ford.

That's for the front, I'm already using that.

I need to find out about the rear. I can get adapters from airbagit.com but I'm trying to also use the rotor/hub assembly off of a 450 so I can get the bigger brakes.

Sorry guess I misunderstood earlier.

Which style rear do you have? Does it have the aluminum rear cover? You are wanting to put the 450 hub and rotor on the dana 80 correct?
