I'm going to be moving my modded 17° from my 96 over to my new truck sometime soon. When I installed the modded 17° in the 96 I used some black Permatex sealant that was supposed to be oil resistant, and I don't know if I just didn't use enough or if it was the wrong stuff but there was a small oil leak at the little plate you have to remove to remove the gear from the HPOP.
That tube of sealant is currently AWOL in the garage some place, but I do have some sealant I was using on a dirt bike engine. It's Threebond 1194, and it's supposed to be fuel and oil resistant as well. Can I use this to seal up that cover? Tech info on Threebond 1194
