I finally got some time to put some bondo in the welds and cover up the bear metal. I used white plasti dip for right now until I can get it warm enough to actually paint the door.

Could u post a pic with the wing window open as far as possible? Front and back view

I was looking at my truck and I want to put some dmax mirrors on it and was wondering why the bracket that is welded to the truck couldn't be dropped down to the body line (2" lower then where its at now) and moved forward towards the front of the truck a couple of inches? Wouldn't that leave the wing window completly functional? Also you wouldn't have to look at the bolts through the window.

Put these on a while ago. They are eBay Chevy 88-98 tow mirrors that bolt on same as the dodge tow mirrors, with a triangulated 3 hole mount. Hole in the center is for the wires.
Cardboard mock up.

Steel bent to match the cardboard with rear lip for decreased vibration

Vent windows can still open 70% of the way.

The mirrors vibrate a little more than I had hoped for at 80+, but they are a lot better than stock. I hardly even use the top mirror unless pulling a long trailer. The bottom mirrors are fish eyed, and they're what I like to use because you can see everything beside and slightly behind the truck. Also, with the mirrors in, you can still see all of the passenger side mirror. (I was worried about the vent window bar blocking it)
Here is how I trimmed the new terminals to fit into the old socket.

I have a set I'd 03 SD mirrors but the body shop guy I went to (didn't really think much of him sounded like he just didn't want to do it) said it would be to stressful on the doors to replace the vent windows with a welded in plate to bolt the mirrors to. What is your opinions?
