Transmission delay

When I put the truck in drive it pauses for about 1-2 seconds then I can feel it engage in drive. Sometimes it's a longer delay and sometimes there's no delay. If I got from park to neutral and then drive it's less noticeable. Could this be just a lazy solenoid or a dirty filter?

I tried searching and have come up empty. Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

put a pressure gauge on the trans and see what the pressure is like in park, reverse, drive, and when i wont engage note what the pressure does.

also fill out you sig so we know the mods on the truck.

Truck is going in under Warrnty there pulling the tranny and tearing it apart. Ill let you know how it turns out!
